“How will gay marriage demands affect average Americans?” I hear left-liberals ask. Well, they already are. Exhibit one (passport applications): “The words ‘mother’ and ‘father’ will be removed from U.S. passport applications and replaced with gender neutral terminology, the State Department says.”
Big Brother has spoken. “The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father,’” explained Brenda Sprague, deputy assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services. This year, they’ll become “Parent One” and “Parent Two.”
Christian voters no doubt will wonder why Obama, a self-professed Christian, isn’t defending the f-word and the m-word, but because Democrats are experts in newspeak, radical “gay marriage” supporters have applauded the decision.
Control the language and you control the people, so forget the Bible’s command to honor thy father and mother. And it raises a dilemma: What’s honorable about referring to dad as “Parent One” and mom as “Parent Two”?
Perhaps though Obama’s kitschy “hope and change” slogan applies to language too. Or as Ann Coulter asserts: “Liberals never, ever drop a heinous idea; they just change the name. ‘Abortion’ becomes ‘choice,’ ‘communist’ becomes ‘progressive,’ ‘communist dictatorship’ becomes ‘people's democratic republic’ and ‘Nikita Khrushchev’ becomes ‘Barack Obama.’”
Update: I’d say the Democrats have been getting calls. Christopher Weber from Daily Politics reports: “The agency said Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton ordered that ‘mother’ and ‘father’ remain on passport forms and paperwork that documents the birth of a child to Americans overseas.”
What a mess. Even the timing (just before Christmas) has been acknowledged by the left-leaning Washington Post: “The announcement of the change was buried at the end of a Dec. 22 news release, titled 'Consular Report of Birth Abroad Certificate Improvements,' that highlighted unrelated security changes.” In other words, they failed to sneak it through.
